Golden Rams Fall to #5 St. Cloud Tech

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team hung in for a half with the #5 ranked team in NJCAA before falling 94-80 to St. Cloud Tech.

The Golden Rams trailed by three at halftime after shooting 43.8 percent in the first half and holding SCTCC to 41.4 percent.

But the Cyclones opened the second half on a 19-3 run that Anoka-Ramsey couldn't recover from.

Anoka-Ramsey trailed 36-26 before a three from Roland Washington, and another from Nashiem Lozier pulled Anoka-Ramsey within four.

Josiah Remus-Ford scored a layup to cut the deficit to two.  After a SCTCC field goal, Washington would connect again followed by another Remus-Ford layup to tie the score at 38.  SCTCC would end the half with a three for a 41-38 lead.

The Golden Rams finished the game shooting 43.5 percent, but allowed SCTCC to hit 58.8 percent of their second half field goals.

Washington led Anoka-Ramsey with 15 points making all five of his field goal attempts.

Lozier scoed 11 points to go with eight rebounds.

D.J. Pettigrew and Terrell Fountain each scored ten points.

The Golden Rams fall to 8-10 overall with their fourth straight loss, 1-4 in the MCAC.  Next up is a home tilt with Western Tech on January 29 at 7:30pm.
