Second Half Run Propels Men's Basketball to Win

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team defeated M|State Fergus Falls on Wednesday evening 84-64 to kick off the MCAC Southern Division portion of their schedule.

Leading 56-52 with under ten minutes to play, the Golden Rams closed the game on a 28-12 run to pull away.

M|State led 15-9 early in the first half before consecutive baskets from Nashiem Lozier, Dylan Hay, and Roland Washington knotted the score at 15-all.

The Spartans again extended out to a six point lead, 26-20, before an 11-2 spurt from Anoka-Ramsey saw them take a 31-28 lead following a Lozier three.

The Golden Rams pushed the lead to seven after another Lozier basket.

The Spartans got as close as one point, 51-50, but the Golden Rams held off any additional rallies to pick up the win.

Lozier finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds, making 8 of 12 from the field.

D.J. Pettigrew scored 19 points on 7 of 14 shooting including 4 of 7 from three.

Washington chipped in with 11 points.

The Golden Rams improve to 8-6 overall, 1-0 MCAC.
