The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team built an 18 point second half lead, then held on for 93-87 win over MCAC Northern Division foe Central Lakes on Tuesday evening in Coon Rapids.
The Golden Rams avenged an earlier loss to CLC back on November 13.
Anoka-Ramsey led 70-52 with 11:16 left after a three-point play from Nashiem Lozier, before the Raiders mounted a comeback trimming to deficit to 80-73 with 4:26 to go.
But a three from Roland Washington put Anoka-Ramsey back up ten, followed later by a five point spurt that pushed the lead back to 14 points with 2:30 to play.
Central Lakes led 40-35 with 3:22 to play in the first half, but the Golden Rams closed the half on a 12-1 run highlighted by five points from Washington to lead 47-41 at halftime.
Lozier and Terrell Fountain combined for a 10-2 run to extend Anoka-Ramsey's lead to the 18 point margin midway thru the second half.
The Golden Rams shot a season-high 55.6 percent from the field and made 11 of 25 threes to offset 22 turnovers.
Central Lakes shot just 40.7 percent overall but held a 48-42 edge in rebounding including 23-7 on the offensive glass.
Lozier scored 27 points and added 13 rebounds for his third double-double in the first five games of the season.
Washington added 19 points on 6 of 10 shooting and 4 of 6 from three.
Antoin Watson Jr. scored 13 points on 5 of 9 from the field.
D.J. Pettigrew and Dylan Hay each chipped in nine points.
The Golden Rams improve to 3-2 overall and will host Hibbing on Friday, December 6th at 7:30pm.
