The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team saw their season come to a close, losing to Riverland 82-62 on Saturday afternoon in the NJCAA Region XIII semifinals.
The Golden Rams had defeated Mesabi Range on Friday night, 87-67, in the quarterfinals.
In the game against Mesabi the Golden Rams were on fire offensively shooting 50 percent overall and 53.1 percent from the three-point line. Anoka-Ramsey tied a season-high with 17 made 3's on the night.
Five players scored in double digits led by Jalen Dunlap with 18 points to go with six rebounds.
Beau Nelson scored 17 points on 5 of 10 from the three-point line.
Jackson Odegard scored 12 points making 4 of 7 threes.
DeAndre Jones tallied 11 points making 3 of 4 from deep, and Nashiem Lozier added 11 points.
Murshid Mudricat Zuberi had eight points and 12 rebounds.
In the loss to Riverland the Golden Rams couldn't muster the same shooting night as they shot just 7 of 27 from three.
Anoka-Ramsey fell behind 27-20 but went on a 7-0 spurt to tie the score at 27 all with two minutes to go in the half, and trailed 30-29 at the break.
Lozier started the second half with a dunk and Dunlap knocked down a three to give Anoka-Ramsey a 34-30 lead.
With the score tied at 43 apiece and 14 minutes to go, Riverland started to assert themselves on both ends of the court. A three-point play and a three from beyond the arc put the Blue Devils ahead 49-43.
But an 11-0 run over a three minute stretch pushed the deficit to 18 points with six minutes to play and the Golden Rams couldn't recover.
Lozier scored 18 points followed by 15 from Nelson. Justin Castro scored 14 points, and Dunlap added ten.
Anoka-Ramsey finishes the season 17-12 overall.
