Hot Shooting Propels Golden Rams to Win

Anoka-Ramsey shot 50.8 percent overall and connected on 13 of 28 threes (46.4 percent) in earning a 85-73 win over the M|State Fergus Falls on Saturday afternoon in Men's Basketball.

M|State opened up an early 17-6 lead as the Golden Rams struggled out of the gate.

Trailing 24-15, Tenzing Chime knocked down a three to spark a 13-4 Golden Ram run to tie the score at 28 apiece.

After two M|State free throws, Jalen Dunlap connected from long range to give the Golden Rams their first lead, 31-30 with five minutes left in the first.

A Spartan three put M|State back up 37-36 with three minutes to play but Anoka-Ramsey closed the first half on a 10-2 run to lead 46-39 at halftime.

M|State trimmed the deficit to 51-46 before a Murshid Mudricat Zuberi layup, a free throw from Dunlap, and a DeAndre Jones jumper put the Golden Rams up ten.

Beau Nelson knocked down one of his four threes with 8:43 to play opening up a 68-53 lead for Anoka-Ramsey and the Golden Rams never looked back from there.

Nelson finished with 18 points on 6 of 9 shooting and 4 of 6 from three.

Justin Castro had 18 points and 12 rebounds making all four of his three-point attempts.

Dunlap chipped in 14 points while Chime finished with 9 points on 3 of 7 from three.

The Golden Rams improve to 13-10 overall, 6-4 in the MCAC and will travel to Rochester on Wednesday, February 13.
