Golden Rams Win Big Over Itasca

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Men's Basketball team fell behind 7-0 to the Itasca Vikings on Friday evening before putting on an onslaught of offensive and defensive efficiency to run away with the victory 98-50.

The Golden Rams trailed 10-8 with 15 minutes left in the first half, but proceeded to go on a 18-2 run highlighted by three three-point field goals from Jackson Odegard to pull ahead 26-12 with 10 minutes left.

After a Vikings layup, Anoka-Ramsey went on a 17-0 run to go up 43-14 with five minutes left in the half.

The Golden Rams led 50-23 at halftime after shooting 20 for 36 (55.6 percent) and holding Itasca to just 9 of 40 (22.5 percent) including 3 of 20 from the three-point line.

Kevin Schramm and Justin Castro opened the second half with back-to-back threes to put Anoka-Ramsey up 56-23 and the Golden Rams cruised to their third-straight victory.

Odegard finished with a career-high 26 points knocking down 6 of 10 three-point attempts and 10 of 14 shots overall.

Schramm finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Chris Morgan scored 15 points and pulled in 14 rebounds.

DeAndre Jones scored 13 points off the bench hitting 3 of 4 three-point attempts.

James Lloyd chipped in with 11 points.

Malik El-Amin had a game-high eight assists while Castro finished with eight points, eight rebounds, and five assists.

Anoka-Ramsey shot 53.7 percent overall and 16 of 33 (48.5 percent) from the three-point line.

Itasca finished the night 18 of 71 from the field (25.4 percent) and 5 of 33 from beyond the arc (15.2 percent).

The Golden Rams even their record at 3-3.
