Walk-Off Double Highlights Two Wins over Rochester

 

Game One

The Golden Rams defeated Rochester Community and Technical College 5-4 on Saturday thanks to a walk-off double from Drew Jones.  The game was tied at four with Anoka-Ramsey batting in the bottom of the seventh when Jones doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring the game winning run.

Jake Hansen led the Golden Rams to victory on the mound.  He surrendered four runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out eight.  Lucas Fredin took the loss for Rochester. He allowed two hits and one run over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking zero.

Anoka-Ramsey racked up 13 hits on the day.  Jones, Cole Benson, Jared Crawford, and Brandon Watkins all managed multiple hits.  Jones went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Golden Rams in hits.

 

Game Two

 

Anoka-Ramsey Community College defeated Rochester Community and Technical College 7-2 on Saturday.

RCTC got things moving in the first inning, when they scored a pair of runs.  In the bottom of the second inning, the Golden Rams tied things up at two.  Jared Kent singled on a 1-1 count, scoring the two runs.

Anoka-Ramsey pulled away for good with one run in the third inning.  In the third Sam Knight singled on a 3-2 count, scoring their third run.

The Golden Rams put up three runs in the fourth inning, led by a RBI singleby Jake Hansen.

Dan Foley came in relief to earn victory on the mound.  He surrendered zero runs on two hits over six innings, striking out four and walking zero.  Mitch McMurl took the loss for Rochester Community and Technical College.  He allowed three hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one.

The Golden Rams tallied nine hits on the day.  Jared Crawford, Knight, Hansen, and Kent all managed multiple hits.  Kent, Hansen, Knight, and Crawford each managed two hits to lead the Golden Rams.
