Game 1
Anoka-Ramsey Community College wins contest against Iowa Lakes Community College on Tuesday, 5-1.
Iowa Lakes Community College got things moving in the first inning, when Austen Daliet drew a walk, scoring one run. Anoka-Ramsey took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. Jared Crawford got the score started when he singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Cole Benson followed that up, as he singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
Colin Bernard earned the win for the Golden Rams. He surrendered one run on four hits over six innings, striking out six. Kyle Nelson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Nelson recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Anoka-Ramsey.
Tyler Shafer took the loss for Iowa Lakes. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking one.
Anoka-Ramsey totaled nine hits in the game. Ben Johnson, Dylan Conrad, and Crawford each collected multiple hits.
Game 2
Anoka-Ramsey fell to Iowa Lakes Community College 6-5 on Tuesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at five with Iowa Lakes Community College batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run for Iowa Lakes.
The Golden Rams got things started in the first inning when Cole Benson grounded out, scoring one run. After Anoka-Ramsey scored two runs in the top of the third, Iowa Lakes Community College answered with two of their own. Anoka-Ramsey scored when Jake Hansen doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. Iowa Lakes Community College then answered with a single on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Eric Walker took the loss for Anoka-Ramsey Community College. He lasted one-third of an inning, allowing two hits and one run while walking one. Drew Jones started the game for Anoka-Ramsey Community College. He allowed three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four
Ben Johnson smacked one home run on the day, as he homered in the fifth inning. Johnson also led the Golden Rams with three hits in three at bats.
