Baseball Sweeps Itasca

Game 1

Anoka-Ramsey Community College defeated Itasca Community College 8-7 on April 3rd thanks to a walk-off single by Cole Benson.  The game was tied at seven with Anoka-Ramsey batting in the bottom of the eighth when Cole Benson singled on a 1-2 count, scoring the game winning run.

The Golden Rams fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jake Hansen homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.  

After Itasca scored one run in the top of the second, Anoka-Ramsey Community College answered with one of their own when Dylan Conrad singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Dan Foley earned the win for Anoka-Ramsey. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out two and walking zero.  Jake Hansen started the game for Anoka-Ramsey Community College. He went five innings, allowing seven runs on five hits and striking out two.

Anoka-Ramsey tallied seven hits on the day.  Mason Gallagher led the Golden Rams with two hits in four at bats.

 

Game 2

The Golden Rams got on the board in the first inning when Jake Hansen doubled home the first run.  Anoka-Ramsey put up three more runs in the fourth inning when Drew Jones had a three run home run.

Dylan Conrad led the Golden Rams to victory on the pitcher's mound.  He went four innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out four.  Kyle Nelson and Colin Bernard entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Nelson recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Anoka-Ramsey.

Jake Hansen went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Golden Rams in hits for the day.  Anoka-Ramsey didn't commit a single error in the field.
