Golden Rams Sweep Western Tech in Baseball

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Baseball team got two wins against Western Tech, winning game one 7-4 and game two 5-4.

In the first game Western Tech jumped ahead 2-0 after three innings, but Anoka-Ramsey responded with two in the top of the 4th to tie the score.

Western Tech added a run in the bottom half of the inning to retake the lead, but the Golden Rams would counter with a run in the top of the 5th to tie the score again.

After a scoreless 6th Anoka-Ramsey strung together a series of hits that resulted in four runs in the 7th.

Cole Benson went 4 for 4 from the plate and drove in three runs.

Dylan Conrad scored two runs and had two RBI.

Kyle Nelson threw six innings scattering five hits while striking out seven.

Dan Foley got the win by pitching one inning and striking out all three batters faced.

In game two the Golden Rams needed extra innings to finish off the Cavaliers 5-4.

The Golden Rams were primed to win leading 4-0 heading into the bottom of the 7th but allowed four Western Tech runs to tie the score.

Anoka-Ramsey managed one run in the 9th and Eric Walker earned the win pitching the last two scoreless innings.

Jared Crawford-Akeredolu went 3 for 4 at the plate with an RBI.

Samuel Knight had two hits to go with an RBI and a walk.

Hansen pitched six innings striking out ten.
