The Golden Rams spent their spring break down in Tucson, AZ where they played eight games in the Tucson Invitation at the Kino Sports Complex. Although, the weather wasn't the best while they were there; the trip did prove to be a success. The team finished the week with a 5-3 record, while they competed against 4-year JV, NJCAA DII, and MCAC teams. Coach Saulsbury commented, "We have high expectations for the team this spring. We knew we looked good on paper, but still needed to go out and prove it on the field. I was extremely happy how our players competed during the week, along with their poise and grit. Provided we stay relatively healthy, it should be an extremely fun season!"
Many of the Golden Rams had stellar during the week. "It was great to see many of our player do so well this week, as it was a total team effort. We saw some pretty good pitching, sound defense, and timely hitting from our players. It was a great way to start the season." Coach Saulsbury mentioned.

Anoka-Ramsey CC 6 – Northwestern JV (NAIA – Iowa) 5
Anoka-Ramsey Community College snatched the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory over Northwestern University JV on Monday. Anoka-Ramsey trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Ben Johnson doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.
Northwestern University JV got things moving in the second inning, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the second inning, Anoka-Ramsey tied things up at one. when Mason Gallagher tripled.
Dan Foley earned the victory on the mound for Anoka-Ramsey. He allowed three hits and one run over three innings, striking out four and walking zero.
Jake Hansen started the game for Anoka-Ramsey. He went four innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out eight and walking one
Anoka-Ramsey tallied 11 hits on the day. Johnson and Gallagher each had multiple hits, as both had three hits each.
Anoka Ramsey CC 5 – Valley City State University (NAIA – ND) 3
Anoka-Ramsey Community College snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-3 victory over Valley City State University - JV on Monday. The game was tied at three with Anoka-Ramsey batting in the bottom of the sixth when Kyle Nelson singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Anoka-Ramsey got things moving in the second inning on Dylan Conrad's sac fly, which scored one run.
Drew Jones earned the victory on the hill for Anoka-Ramsey. He went two and a third innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out five and walking one.
Ben Johnson started the game for Anoka-Ramsey. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out nine
Nelson, Jared Kent, Sam Knight, Brandon Watkins, and Conrad each managed one hit to lead Anoka-Ramsey.

Central Lakes College 13 – Anoka Ramsey CC 1
Anoka-Ramsey Community College watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-1 loss to Central Lakes Raiders on Wednesday. The Raiders took the lead on a double in the first inning.
The Anoka-Ramsey struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Central Lakes, giving up 13 runs.
In the first inning, Central Lakes got their offense scoring one run. They then scored five runs in the fourth inning.
Zach Reed started the game for Anoka-Ramsey. He surrendered six runs on six hits over two innings, striking out three. Brenden Kruger, Lukas Nyberg, and Simon Stenzel each contributed in relief for Anoka-Ramsey.
Wyatt Kerkes, Colin Bernard, and Lucas Tollini each managed one hit to lead Anoka-Ramsey.
Anoka-Ramsey CC 17 – Central Lakes College 7
Ben Johnson didn't feel much like getting out on Wednesday, tallying four hits and leading Anoka-Ramsey Community College to a 17-7 win over Central Lakes Raiders. Johnson singled in the first, tripled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh.
Anoka-Ramsey earned the victory despite allowing the Raiders to score four runs in the sixth inning.
Anoka-Ramsey pulled away for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Cole Benson singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Mason Gallagher drew a walk, scoring one run, Jared Crawford to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Johnson tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
The Golden Rams put up ten runs in the sixth inning. Crawford, Johnson, Drew Jones, Jake Hansen, AJ Overton, and Thomas Blumer all drove in runs in the frame.
Logan Severson pitched Anoka-Ramsey to victory. He surrendered one run on one hit over one inning. Dan Foley, Jones, and Brydon Hegarty all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Anoka-Ramsey tallied 18 hits. Johnson, Benson, Hansen, Overton, Brandon Watkins, and Blumer all had multiple hits for Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Johnson led the Golden Rams with four hits in five at bats.

Anoka-Ramsey CC 4 – Lake Region State College (NJCAA DII – ND) 2
Anoka-Ramsey Community College takes victory on Thursday to the tune of 4-2 over Lake Region State College.
Lake Region fired up the offense in the first inning, scoring one run.
Kyle Nelson earned the victory on the mound for Anoka-Ramsey. He went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five. Drew Jones threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Jones recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Anoka-Ramsey.
The Golden Rams racked up ten hits in the game. Mason Gallagher and Thomas Blumer all had multiple hits for Anoka-Ramsey. Blumer and Gallagher each collected two hits to lead Anoka-Ramsey. Anoka-Ramsey was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
Lake Region State College (NJCAA DII – ND) 5 – Anoka-Ramsey CC 4
Anoka-Ramsey Community College got things moving in the first inning, scoring two runs when Cole Benson singled.
Drew Jones took the loss for Anoka-Ramsey. He surrendered three runs on three hits over two innings, striking out two and walking zero.
Colin Bernard started the game for Anoka-Ramsey. He lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out five.
The Golden Rams collected seven hits. Jake Hansen and Benson all collected multiple hits for Anoka-Ramsey, while Hansen went 3-for-4 at the plate.

White Rock Tritons 8 – Anoka-Ramsey CC 5
Even though Anoka-Ramsey Community College collected 11 hits to White Rock Tritons's eight, they still fell 8-5 on Friday.
White Rock Tritons pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning.
Anoka-Ramsey scored three runs in the seventh inning. The Golden Rams offense in the inning came from singles by Dakota Rockstad and Brandon Watkins.
Brett Vetterkind was on the mound for Anoka-Ramsey. He surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Brenden Kruger and Logan Severson entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and one inning respectively.
Anoka-Ramsey had 11 hits in the game. Rockstad and Ben Johnson each had multiple hits for Anoka-Ramsey. Johnson and Rockstad each managed two hits to lead Anoka-Ramsey.
Anoka-Ramsey CC 3 – Williston State College (NJCAA DII – ND) 0
Anoka-Ramsey Community College defeated Williston State College 3-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Anoka-Ramsey pitchers struck out 12, while Williston State pitchers sat down five.
In the second inning, the Golden Rams got their offense started when Mason Gallagher singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Dylan Conrad got the win for Anoka-Ramsey. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out eight. Hansen threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Hansen recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Anoka-Ramsey.
Cole Benson led the Golden Rams with three hits in three at bats.
The Golden Rams open up the Minnesota-side of their schedule on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 where they face Itasca Community Community College. The game will be played on Reynolds Field at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul's campus. The first pitch is scheduled for 3 pm.
