Baseball Swept by Riverland

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Baseball team fought valiantly against Southern Division rival Riverland but fell 7-6 and 12-2.

The Golden Rams knocked out 12 hits in the first game and held a 3-0 lead after the first inning thanks in part to a sacrifice fly from Brennan Beese.

Riverland would score four runs in the top of the 4th inning to take a 4-3 lead but the Golden Rams responded with a run in the bottom of the 4th to tie the score 4-4.

Riverland took the lead with two runs in the 6th inning, but Anoka-Ramsey again responded in the bottom half with two more runs.  Cody Herrmann tied the score with an RBI single.

The game went to extra innings and Riverland put one run on the board in the top of the 10th to earn the win.

Ryan Lust went 3-4 at the plate scoring two runs and Andrew Brown went 3-5.

In game two the Golden Rams again held tough leading 2-1 after three innings.

But Riverland scored three in the 5th, and four apiece in the 6th and 7th to pull out the victory.

Jake Hansen had two hits for Anoka-Ramsey.
