Golden Rams Split with Rainy River at US Bank Stadium

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Baseball team had the opportunity to play in the home of the Minnesota Vikings, and came away with a split vs. Rainy River.

In game one the Golden Rams fell behind 4-0 after the first inning and couldn't recover in losing 9-3.

Anoka-Ramsey managed nine hits for the game.

Bobby Cienik, Austin Greiner, and Jake Hansen each went 2-3 with Hansen driving in one run.

Andrew Brown took the loss for Anoka-Ramsey allowing eight runs over four innings and striking out two.

In the second game the Golden Rams again fell behind early, 3-0 after the first.

But three runs in the bottom of the second inning tied the score at 3-3 after singles by Jake Bloomstrand and Austin Greiner.

Another run in the bottom of the fourth gave the Golden Rams a 4-3 lead.

Rainy River would tie the score again 4-4 in the top of the fourth and the score would remain tied into the bottom of the seventh.

Ryan Lust would hit a double scoring the game-winning run for the Golden Rams.

Anoka-Ramsey collected ten hits with Lust going 3-4 at the plate.

Parker Janske started the game for Anoka-Ramsey but did not earn a decision in throwing six innings and scattering eight hits.  Joe Harrington earned the win with one inning of work allowing no runs and no hits.

"This was a great day for our program," said head coach Jason Saulsbury.  "We had the opportunity to compete against a very strong team in Rainy River.  They have a lot of talent on that squad.  Even though things did not go how we wanted it the first game, I could not be happier with how things ended with the back half of the double header with a walk-off win.  Ryan Lust came up huge for us with driving in that winning run.  Our guys fought extremely hard all day long and deserved that win.  It was just a great experience for our program to play here."
